Did You Know: Memory Disable is available on Mentor Visual IQ?

Since launch, well over 1,000 Mentor iQ systems have been deployed in the field for a wide variety of applications in various different industries. This equipment is sometimes used in highly secure environments while capturing proprietary data either to the internal memory or USB thumbdrive. As a result, customers have requested to have the ability to disable or lockdown the use of either the internal memory or the removable USB thumbdrive.
User Scenario 1 – USB Disable: Customers who use the MViQ in a secure environment want to keep their private data stored only on the internal drive while preventing the ability for the data to escape the contained area via USB thumbdrive. These customers will use the option to disable the two USB ports on the MViQ.
User Scenario 2 – Internal Memory Disable: Service companies who capture proprietary data of engines (for example) do not want this private data living on the MViQ internal memory when the system changes hands and travels globally. There are also data export control implications when shipping the system in and out of certain countries. The ability to disable the internal memory means that users can only save data to the USB thumbdrive eliminating this problem.
For this reason, the ability to perform an upgrade to the unit to add this function, has been made available. Upgrades are now available for Internal Memory or USB Disable on the Mentor Visual iQ.
