SciAps Z-Series offers four hardware platforms with our handheld LIBS analyzers. From sophisticated analysis of ultra-low elemental concentrations in alloys, ores, brines and powders, to basic material or scrap sorting, SciAps offers a model for your application. And we defy obsolescence. Any lower performing model can be upgraded to a higher performing model at any time. You’re never obsolete with a SciAps LIBS.
Z-901
The Z-901 features an all-new ergonomic design, a 0.5 lb. weight reduction down to about 3.5 lbs. (1.6 kg), improved heat dissipation, and completely updated software and processing electronics.
The Z-901 also leads the way featuring the first-ever “dual burn” technology. Users can test with the 901 either using an “air burn” method or using argon-purge for applications requiring higher precision and lower limits of detection.
The Z-901 uses a single spectrometer to cover the wavelength range of 200 – 440 nm. It is factory calibrated for a suite of 15-20 elements, depending on application. Or operators may use the accompanying ProfileBuilder software package to customize to specific elements, their own calibration standards, and spectral processing. The Z-901 can be setup to measure the emissions of any element EXCEPT Li, Na, H, C, N, O, Cl, Br, F, Ce, Rb, S. Common factory-calibrated applications include alloy, mining and environmental analysis, typically for beryllium in soil.
Z-901 CSi
The “CSi” is a dedicated unit for measuring carbon and silicon in steels and stainless. It is the ideal tool if you own handheld XRF units and want to continue to use those for measuring common alloy elements such as Cr, V, Mn, Ni, Cu, Mo, Nb, etc. but need the occasional carbon and/or silicon measurement. The CSi opens up a very cost-effective option for many NDT professionals that have older XRF units and may only want to add in C and Si measurements in order to determine carbon equivalents (CE), verify L versus H-grade stainless or include a carbon measurement with low RE steels.
Z-902-C
The Z-902 “C” is a dedicated NDT/PMI analyzer for carbon content and a wide range of alloys and alloy bases. It features 2 spectrometers (instead of one in the 901) to extend the spectral range down to 190 nm with high resolution, specifically to measure carbon content in steels, stainless and other alloys. The Z-902 is the analyzer of choice globally for the measuring carbon content in alloys, and carbon equivalents. It is also factory calibrated for a suite of 15-20 elements in 7 common alloy bases: aluminum, steel, stainless, nickel, cobalt, titanium and copper bases. Additional bases or calibrations may be added by the factory or the user.
Z-300
Analyzes every element in the periodic table.
The Z-300 is the LIBS of choice for applications in geochem, mining, oil & gas. It is our 3-spectrometer system, spanning a wavelength range of 190 nm – 950 nm. This range allows for the entire periodic table to be analyzed including critical elements such as S, H, the halogens and others. Like the Z-200, the Z-300 is factory calibrated for specific applications in mining and environmental applications. Examples include lithium in brines and hard rock, beryllium, boron and carbon analysis, fluorine, and sodium in soils or other materials. Operators may also use the accompanying PC software to set up their own calibrations for a variety of material types – glasses, polymers, archaeological and forensics samples, and many others.
